Funding Model

This isn’t like other crowdfunding you’ve seen: every supporter we get unlocks more matching funds—not just for us, but for all of the nature projects in this round. Your support helps everyone rise.

 

Regular funding: If you donate $10 and I donate $10, the project gets $20 total.

 

Quadratic funding: If you donate $10 and I donate $10, a matching pool adds extra funds based on the NUMBER of donors, not just the amount. So the project might get $20 + $15 in matching = $35 total!

 

The more people who donate (even small amounts), the more matching funds the project receives. This means your $5 donation could help unlock way more than $5 in matching funds.

What This Supports

Ma Earth is offering up to $15,000 in matching funds per project, which means with enough participation we could raise a highly impactful amount of money to support things like:

• Scholarships for BIPOC and low-income participants.

• Travel stipends to ease the burden for folks trying to get to the Congress from far away.

• Cover housing costs and on-site support for Indigenous elders.

• Close the gap on production costs like paying Congress staff fair wages and renting important infrastructure like tents, porto-toilets, and golf carts to assist with on-site accessibility.

• Contribute to printing costs for the Voice of the Turtle daily newsletter at the Congress and videography for educational resources to share widely across the movement.
